International Student Admission
The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is authorized to enroll non-immigrant F-1 students by the United States Department of Homeland Security via the Student and Exchange Visitors Information System (SEVIS). The Chicago School is currently authorized to issue I-20s (Certificate of Eligibility for Non-Immigrants [F-1] Student Status) for international students at the Chicago, Irvine, Los Angeles and Westwood Campuses. However, no I-20s can be issued for international students seeking admission to any of TCS' online programs as you will take your classes online in your home country.

If you currently in the United States in another immigration status aside from F-1 (i.e. H1-B, L-2 or E-2), you may also be eligible to study part time or full time at The Chicago School.If you are uncertain of the limitations of your immigration status on your eligibility to enroll at The Chicago School, please email iss@thechicagoschool.edu for more information.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
To gain admission to The Chicago School, applicants must meet all the required credentials for application and enrollment. Start your application to The Chicago School.
ADDITIONAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS
- Official scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Languate Testing System (IELTS) for all students for whom English is not their native language.
- Minimum TOEFL score: 79 IBT or 550 written (TOEFL school code: 7161)
- Minimum IELTS* score: 6.5
(*IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.)
- Official “Course-by-Course” Transcript Evaluation(s) of all international coursework (cost of transcript evaluation is paid by the student). This is a requirement for all international students, even those from Canada. Evaluation agencies the school recommends: Credential Evaluators, World Education Services or Educational Perspectives
After admission, all international applicants must also provide:
- International Student Information Form
- Photocopy of valid passport (not less than 6 months from expiration)
- Photocopy of any other immigration documents (current I-20, visa, I-94 card, etc.), if applicable
If you will be attending The Chicago School in F-1 status, you must also provide the following documentation:
NOTE: Students who are applying for admission in another immigration status other than F-1, do NOT need to provide financial documentation, but must still complete page one of the International Student Information Form and submit a copy of their passport.
- The Transfer In Form, if currently attending another U.S. institution in F-1 status
- A copy of a valid passport(s) and other applicable immigration documents for any F-2 accompanying dependents.
