Degree Completion and Conferral

The Chicago School of Professional Psychology's policy on Academic Program Completion may be found in the Academic Policies and Procedure section of the Student Handbook. Students must complete all of their program requirements before their degree can be conferred. Academic program requirements include but are not limited to coursework, clinical training (practicum/internship), and a capstone project, i.e. thesis, dissertation.

A candidate's degree progress and eligibility for conferral is assessed by the Office of the Registrar. All students must file the Intent to Graduate form by the deadlines stipulated below in order to be considered for degree conferral. Late petitions will not be accepted.

Note: Doctoral students who opt to earn a nested master's degree are required to petition for the MA degree and subject to all degree conferral requirements.

Intent to Graduate Form

Filing the Intent to Graduate form will initiate the degree auditing and, if merited, degree conferral procedures. Once the petition is completed and submitted, the petitioner will receive a  at his/her TCSPP email account. This will serve as confirmation that the petition has been received in the Office of the Registrar.

Students must be logged into eGo in order to submit the Intent to Graduate form. If a student has never logged into eGo before s/he will need to register first.

Diplomas

Diplomas are produced after the degree is conferred according to the schedule listed above. Diplomas will be mailed as long as the student does not have holds on his or her record, the diploma will be mailed within eight to twelve weeks. Diplomas are mailed to the address provided on the Petition for Degree Completion form. When petitioning, students must enter their permanent address and note that we cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes. If something changes, please e-mail as indicated below to ensure that the diploma is directed to the correct address. Students will not receive transcripts, a diploma, or other official school documentation until all library books are returned and any outstanding tuition and fees or other indebtedness to the institution are paid, and financial aid exit counseling is complete. Once a hold is resolved, students are responsible for contacting their respective Student Services offices.  Diplomas will not be ordered until all holds are resolved and students contact the appropriate Student Services office.

Diploma Name

Diplomas are issued in the name on the petition for program completion. The diploma name may not include any degree abbreviation or other titles.  Changes to the diploma name and address must be made within five (5) business days after the email confirmation from Student Services. Any changes made after this will require the student to re-request their diploma by the Duplicate Diploma Request form.  The student will then be responsible for the cost of ordering a duplicate diploma.
