Intro Acceptance & Commitment Therapy Workshop (Chicago)
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a unique evidence-based therapy that combines acceptance and mindfulness strategies with behavior change in order to increase psychological flexibility and valued living.
Drs. Patty Bach & Sandra Georgescu will:
1. Briefly introduce the ACT model of psychopathology/flexibility
2. Help you contact inner experience mindfully and with compassion
3. Introduce the six core ACT processes: Present moment, Acceptance, Defusion, Self-as-context, Values & Committed action while allowing you to observe and practice ACT exercises associated with each process.
4. Please not the experiential nature of this workshop.
This workshop is for professionals and graduate students. The workshop will last from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm on both September 24th and 25th.
