Stigma and Social Exclusion of LGBT Latino Population CEU Program

Presenter: Jose Toro Alfonso, PhD
                     Department of Psychology, University of Puerto Rico

Dr. Toro-Alfonso is a clinical psychologist, professor and researcher in the Department of Psychology, Rio Piedras Campus University of Puerto Rico. Dr. Toro-Alfonso has held and played many important roles with the Interamerican Psychological Society (SIP) in Puerto Rico. He is currently the President-elect of the SIP for the period of 2011-2013. He has published over fifty articles in peer-reviewed journals and international journals, and  has published five books

  • Describe major issues related to Latino culture that hinders inclusion of LGBT populations.
  • Identify three main instances in which culture and diversity might become confronted.
