TCS-LA Taps Dr. Albert Edwards as Lead Faculty for West Coast I/O Program

The Chicago School’s Los Angeles Campus welcomes a new lead faculty for its Industrial and Organizational Psychology (I/O) program. Dr. Albert Edwards III, SPHR, joins TCS-LA from his post as founder and principal consultant of Transformation Dimensions, a leadership, organization development, and learning consulting group based in La Quinta, Calif.
In his new role, Dr. Edwards provides West Coast leadership for one of The Chicago School’s most popular programs. Nearly 200 alumni have graduated from the program since it was first offered in Chicago in 2001. I/O psychology professionals are trained to apply the principles of both psychology and business to recognize and harness the impact that human factors can have on overall organizational effectiveness.
“The current U.S. economic emergency underscores the need for organizations to examine practices that are counter-productive to effective individual and team performance,” said Dr. Edwards. “This leads to an overarching challenge for organizational psychologists within all industries, which is to apply appropriate models of measurement and prediction to achieve performance objectives.”
Dr. Edwards began his career with General Motors Corporation in human resource management and has enjoyed a number of challenging, and developmental assignments as group manager for organization development and training, regional operations, and human resources director. His posts with Fortune 500 companies include Chrysler Motors, PepsiCo, Gannett Publishing Company, and the Constellation Energy Group. Dr. Edwards’ areas of specialization include cultural diversity and inclusion; leading large-scale organizational change; performance management; executive coaching; building self-directed teams; conflict management; strategic human resource management planning; and, executive recruitment, selection, and coaching.
Dr. Edwards holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology from Alma College in Michigan, and a Master of Science degree in Organization Development and Strategic Human Resource Management from the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he holds a Doctor of Psychology degree in Organization Development and Consulting Psychology from the Marshall Goldsmith School of Management at Alliant International University. Dr. Edwards is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and is certified through the Society for Human Resource Management.
